Ein Blick in die Natur zeigt, dass Ideenreichtum und Erfindergeist nicht nur uns Menschen zuzuschreiben sind. Tiere und Pflanzen haben im Laufe der Evolution Strukturen, Prozesse und Konstruktionen, entwickelt, durch die sie optimal an ihren Lebensraum angepasst sind.

Die Bionik bedient sich aus dem biologischen Ideenfundus und setzt diese Entwicklungen technisch um. Doch wie wichtig sind solche technischen Innovationen für die Entwicklung der Gesellschaft, wie werden sie gefördert und welche Rolle spielen Start-up-Unternehmen und die politischen Rahmenbedingungen dabei? A look at nature shows that imagination and ingenuity are not unique to us humans. In the course of evolution, animals and plants have developed structures, processes and constructions that make them optimally adapted to their habitat.

Bionics makes use of the biological pool of ideas and implements these developments technically. But how important are such technical innovations for the development of society, how are they promoted, and what role do start-up companies and the political framework play in this?
